How will your party end?
Wedding party, what will your guests remember about yours?
Your wedding party should be the best party you’ve been to in your entire life, because it is the ending of the most important day you’ll have. However, it is not only yourself that you need to think about when it comes to the party; you also need to consider what your guests are going to remember about it. It can be easy for the happy couple to keep busy during the course of the evening, because you will have so many friends and family members to talk to and catch up with, however for the guests who are not directly involved in the family, things may be very different indeed.
At the end of the evening, you need to know how things are going to wrap up. A lot of parties gradually come to an end, with guests leaving individually when they feel as though they have had enough of the evening. A good party, however, goes out with a bang, and it is up to you to work out how you would like this to happen. A last dance would be a good idea, and choosing the right song for this is the key to success. Choose something that means a lot to you, and that could get everyone else up on the dance floor for one last dance before they leave for home.
During the evening, it is important that you have a good plan for the flow of the party. There should be specific times, that your guests know about, when certain parts of the evening will happen. Things such as the meal, the speeches, and the individual dances should all be planned out to give your guests something that they would be able to look forward to. In addition to this, it is a good idea to have other activities planned during the evening. It is a choice by many couples to have a quiz during or after the meal, where each table is made into a team, and there are prizes for the winners. This can get people to talk to each other where tables may be made up of people who have never met, and it can improve the atmosphere for later on in the evening. It also gives people the chance to relax for a short time after they have eaten, which might be preferable to going straight into the dancing and partying.
It is a fact that, after a wedding once the dust has settled, the majority of brides feel as though they should have spent a lot more time thinking about the entertainment during the wedding party, as they felt as though their guests would not remember it as much as she had hoped. To avoid this being the case for you, make steps towards putting things in place now. Have a think about how you would like your guests to feel when they leave your party, and think about activities that could make this the case. It may also be helpful to think about wedding parties that you have been to in the past, to think about what you liked about it, and perhaps you could get ideas from here for your own event. If there are wedding parties that you did not stay until the end of, consider why this was the case, and how you could avoid your own guests feeling the same way.
With the right planning, your wedding party could be very memorable for all involved, and this is what you are aiming for. Take the time to put the work in, and you will then be able to look forward to your wedding, knowing that it is something that everybody is going to remember.
